CT Floors has installed, Exposed and Polished Concrete and Lafarge Artevia Concrete on numerous iconic projects over the years.
An exposed, or a grinded and polished concrete floor is achieved when the top layer of concrete is removed to show the aggregate inside the concrete.
Even though it is seen as a decorative product, is one of the strongest flooring options that can be chosen.
It can be used both internally and externally, and depending on the way it has been sealed, it will be able to withstand chemical attack.
This is an extremely versatile product, which, if installed and cured correctly, will stand up against most abuse.
Grinded & Polished Concrete
Grinded concrete is achieved when the top layer of the concrete has been grinded off to expose the aggregate. The more stages of grinding that is done, the higher the gloss will be.
Exposed Aggregate Concrete
Exposed aggregate concrete is achieved when a concrete retarder is applied over the newly placed concrete in order to retard the setting of the top layer of concrete. This layer is then mechanically removed the next day in order to expose the aggregate.
Automated Concrete exposure. No more hosing it down.
CT Floors have automated the exposing of aggregate.
Gone are the days where water is used to hose off the retarded layer of concrete with a stream of thousands of litres of cement water runs down the street.
Our method is both quick as well as clean and eco friendly.
