A lot of buildings have a layer of screed on top of the concrete slab. This screed layer is placed for a number of reasons ranging from convention to rectifying bad levels. That is why we developed CT Floors – Screed Replacement Systems.
Unfortunately these screeds are normally extremely soft, and therefore not good enough to install a specialised seamless floor onto. CT Floors developed, among other products, a Self-Compacting Concrete that acts as screed replacement. This concrete is designed so that it can be layed thin, while still reaching the necesarry strength to successfully accept any floor topping.
Over the years we have installed this methodology for numerous clients ranging from residential projects where screed replacement had to be done, to major projects such as a number of Mercedes showrooms, the Market Theatre, GUD Filters, and Bryanston gallery to name a few.
Often the top layer of a concrete slab may be soft and friable because it was never properly cured.
We employ the correct technologies to repair these slabs so as to avoid further deterioration and dusting.
The same technologies can be utilised to fast-track the slab repair for high-strength overlays such as polyurethane floors to be applied over.
