Weber 4635 Cementitious Terrazzo
The Challenge
In keeping with the style and beauty of the artworks they display, our client wanted a beautiful, yet strong and durable floor that would complement their new art gallery.
From our excellent product knowledge we knew that when it comes to Art Gallery Floors – Weber 4635 Cementitious Terrazzo is one of the best products to work with.
Terrazzo floors are among the most beautiful and hard-wearing decorative seamless floors available on the market.
The challenge was that because this was a renovation, we were presented with a sand-cement screed that had to be replaced with our Self-Compacting Concrete Screed replacement system in order to ensure a strong enough substrate for the Terrazzo floor to be successful.

The Solution
The solution on the installation side was that we worked with the specifying team during the planning phase of the project to make sure that the product specification was correct and during the project we installed the concrete screed replacement and allowed construction to continue on the floor. Just before project handover, we returned to install the final floor finish Terrazzo.
On the product side we used a through-colour final finish self-levelling cementitious decorative overlay grinded and polished to expose small aggregate, giving a “salt and pepper” look. Perfect for commercial environments.
Weber 4635 Design Grinded Stone is a cement-based pumpable screed material with dark hard aggregate granules added to the compound. After curing the top surface it can be abraded and polished to a high gloss by using diamond grinding equipment. The abrading is performed until 1-3 mm dark granules appear in the lighter background. The background colour can be pigmented. The finished surface resembles polished natural stone.
