System Used
Exposed Aggregate Concrete Walkways
The Challenge
For the Jesuit Institute Walkways in Auckland Park, we specified Decorative Exposed Aggregate Concrete Floors.
In this project, the main concern was aesthetics, combined with slip-resistance and longevity. The walkways was originally done with packed stones which was a tripping hazard as well as getting slippery when wet.
We set out to remove the old stones, compact the sun-soil and install an elaborate drainage system to accommodate the massive amount of water that runs down these walkways when it rains.
