The Challenge
Market Theatre Decorative Cement Floors – Weber Self-levelling screed
The Market theatre is an upmarket but traditional theatre in the city centre of Johannesburg. To complement its ambience and aesthetic appeal our challenge was to provide a strong, durable, yet beautiful floor for their new building.
The product to be utilised was a Saint-Gobain Weber 4650 Design Colour cement floor.
We worked with the specifying team during the planning phase of the project to make sure that the product specification was correct.

The Solution
The solution for this challenge on the product side was to be found in sourcing a through-colour final finish self-levelling cementitious decorative overlay – perfect for commercial environments. The Saint-Gobain Weber 4650 Design Colour cement floor perfectly met the mandate.
On the installation side – once construction started, we regularly met with the main contractor to ensure that substrate specification remained correct so that the installation would go seamlessly.
The Outcome
The challenge was met with the right product choice, installation experience and a willingness to collaborate with other project teams. The result is a professionally installed, beautiful and functional floor which if correctly maintained will be welcoming and supporting Market theatre patrons for many years to come.
