Mercedes-Benz Showroom floor – Weber 4650 Design Colour
The Challenge
CT Floors have been installing floors and completing numerous showrooms across the country for Mercedes Benz South Africa since 2014. We have set the bar high and intend to maintain this standard for our valued client.
This project was a total renovation of the original Mercedes Benz Bedfordview showroom. The client wanted a strong, durable, yet beautiful floor that would complement their new building and create the modern look of a world-class showroom facility.
We chose and specified the installation of a Weber 4650 Design colour floor – perfect to achieve the stylish look and feel they required.
The challenge was that the previous floor tiles and screed had to be removed and a new Self-compacting Concrete screed replacement system installed. After that, the building had to be completed, and just before project hand-over, we would need to return to install the decorative screed finish that still gives the Mercedes Benz Racing Facility its unique character.

The Solution
A large part of the solution to any challenge is in choosing the right product for the application. The Weber 4650 Design Colour is a through-coloured, cement-based floor screed, containing special cement, sand and additional binders. The material is a pumpable, rapid-set and self-levelling compound.
Design Colour can be used in commercial, speciality and retail environments, store rooms and industry with light truckload. It has the kind of finish that perfectly displays the class of these vehicles and so was a ‘no brainer’ as a choice for this project.
